Carey, a former top fashion model who stands at 5'10", was popular with American fashion designers such as Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren. Her father was an eminent scientist and was awarded the title of Scientist in 1979 by the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists. As a result of his work, Carey was raised all over the world. While she was at in the University of Colorado at part-time, she caught the interest of Ford model Agency representative in New York. She stayed in France briefly, in Paris as well as Bordeaux. Then she returned to New York for her college studies as well as to develop her career as a model. In between modeling assignments she also studied the study of literature during her time at New York University. When she arrived in New York she began to learn about acting. In 1986, she made her debut on stage with a small role as a minor character in "Club Paradise" in the film "Club Paradise" with Robin Williams. She loves rock climbing ski, windsurfing, and skiing.
